Can Alexa or Bixby Tell You Your Own Phone Number?

No — neither Alexa nor Bixby reliably reads your own phone number aloud. An Echo has no SIM, so it can’t say it; on most Galaxy phones Bixby won’t either. The reliable way: open Settings › About phone › Status to see your number — or detect it automatically with our free tool in one tap.

Can Alexa tell me my number?

No. An Amazon Echo or the Alexa app has no phone line of its own, so there is no “your number” for it to read. Alexa can call other Alexa contacts, but it can’t tell you the number of the phone in your pocket. Check your phone’s Settings instead.

Can Bixby on a Galaxy phone?

Usually not. Bixby can open Settings for you, but it won’t reliably speak your own number. The quickest route on a Samsung Galaxy is Settings › About phone › Status information, where your number appears under Phone number. (On newer Galaxy phones the side key can be set to Gemini, Bixby or another assistant — the answer is the same whichever you use.)

What about Siri and Google Gemini?

Both can sometimes show your number but rarely read it aloud. For the exact setup see our Hey Siri and Hey Google guides.

Fastest way: detect it automatically

Skip the assistants entirely: tap Detect below and call the free test number. Your number appears on screen in seconds — no app, no sign-up, and it works even when your SIM or eSIM stores nothing.

Why don't assistants know your number?

Your number is assigned by your carrier and written to your SIM, not to the assistant’s software. Assistants read your account data (calendar, contacts, reminders), but your own number is a network detail they typically can’t access — which is why every assistant punts on this question.

Frequently asked questions

Can Alexa tell me my phone number?

No. An Echo has no SIM or phone line of its own, so there's no number for Alexa to read. Check your phone's Settings › About phone, or use our free detector.

Can Bixby tell me my number?

Usually not reliably. On a Samsung Galaxy, open Settings › About phone › Status information to see your number under Phone number, or detect it automatically here.

Why won't any voice assistant say my number?

Your number lives on your SIM, assigned by your carrier — not in the assistant's software. Assistants read your account data but not the network's number, so they can't read it aloud.

What's the most reliable way to find my number?

Open your phone's Settings (About phone on Android, Phone on iPhone), or tap Detect on this page to read your number off a live call — it works even when Settings is blank.
