How to Find Your Phone Number on Android

On most Android phones, open Settings › About phone, then Status information or SIM status, and your number appears under My phone number. On a Samsung Galaxy it’s Settings › About phone › Status information › SIM card status. If the field is blank, your carrier didn’t store the number on the SIM — tap Detect my number to read it instantly and free.

Detect my number

Find your number in Settings (any Android)

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap About phone (or About device).
  3. Tap Status information or SIM status.
  4. Read your number under My phone number (or Phone number).

Steps by phone brand

The menu wording differs a little by manufacturer skin. The exact path on the most common brands:

BrandSettings path
Samsung (One UI)Settings › About phone › Status information › SIM card status
Google Pixel / stock AndroidSettings › About phone › SIM status › My phone number
Xiaomi (HyperOS / MIUI)Settings › About phone › SIM status › My phone number
OnePlus / OPPOSettings › About device › Status › SIM status

If your number shows as Unknown here, it isn’t stored on the SIM — use a carrier code or the detector below.

Dual-SIM and eSIM phones

On a dual-SIM phone the SIM status screen lists SIM 1 and SIM 2 separately, so read the slot you actually use for calls. For an eSIM, the same path shows the eSIM line — but right after activation the number is often blank until the carrier provisions it, which can take a few minutes to a few hours.

Why is my number blank or "Unknown"?

A blank or “Unknown” number almost always means the carrier hasn’t written your number to the SIM/eSIM yet — common with a brand-new SIM, a port, or a budget/MVNO network. Two reliable fixes: dial your carrier’s short code (find it in our check your number by carrier guide), or tap Detect my number above, which reads your number off a live call and works even when Settings shows nothing.

Find your number from your Google Account

If you added your number to your Google Account, open account.google.comPersonal infoContact info › Phone on any device to see it. Note this shows the number you registered with Google, which may differ from the number currently on your SIM.

Frequently asked questions

Where is my phone number on a Samsung Galaxy?

Open Settings › About phone › Status information › SIM card status, and your number is under Phone number. If it's blank, your carrier hasn't stored it — use a carrier code or the detector.

Why does my Android show no phone number in Settings?

The carrier hasn't written the number to your SIM or eSIM yet — common after a new SIM, a port, or on an MVNO. Dial your carrier's check code, or tap Detect to read it off a live call.

How do I find which number is SIM 1 vs SIM 2?

On the SIM status screen each slot is listed separately as SIM 1 and SIM 2. If only one shows a number, that's your active calling line.

What's the fastest way to find my Android number?

Tap Detect on this page and call the free test number — your number appears in seconds, no app or sign-up, even when Settings is blank.
